So I haven't posted too much lately but I'm hard at work on two sketchbook pages that incorporate both flat paper and watercolor (pieces of both shown above), and also the book cover that I was hired to do!
This is also a book cover I did digitally (to show that I can use Photoshop and Illustrator). Lemme know what you think:

I just finished working on an alphabet done in cut-paper:
I'm pretty psyched for using new a few new colors!
Also, Annie Beth Ericsson just interviewed me for her blog: http://walkinginpublic.wordpress.com/2010/11/08/new-artist-showcase-kevin-stanton/. You should head on over and see who else she's been talking to as well!

This is another page for the cut-paper part of my sketchbook. It's three irregular incurve chrysanthemums, which are one of my absolute favorite flowers because they're so intricate and huge. I read something funny about chrysanthemums in my research for the right ones - the French bred their mums to have pretty details but in a sensible size, the Japanese bred their mums to have huge blooms with ridiculously gorgeous petals, and the Americans bred small, hardy, easily sellable mums that could ship around the country well.
Clearly we know who I'm favoring the most.
Also, I'm going to be starting work in digital and watercolor again too though, so hopefully I'll have things in that regard to post soon.
